Product: Semi-quantitative Potassium Iodide Starch Test Paper Type: Semi-quantitative test paper Gradation / Sensitivity: 0 · 2 · 8 · 25 · 70 · 100 ppm free chlorine
0 · 2 · 5 · 15 · 30 · 100 ppm nitrite
Item #: 90631

Semi-quantitative test strips for the detection of chlorine and nitrite.

Scope of delivery: Tube of 100 test strips

Product: Potassium Iodide Starch Paper MN 816 N Standard Grade Type: Qualitative test paper Gradation / Sensitivity: 1 mg/L NO2- / 1 mg/L free Cl2 Item #: 90754

This is a filter paper impregnated with potassium iodide (KI) and starch for the detection of nitrite and free chlorine. Nitrite or free chlorine oxidize potassium iodide to form elemental iodine which reacts with the starch in known manner.
Potassium iodide starch paper may be used by dipping it into the solution to be tested. More often, however, it is used in the manner of a spot test by applying drops of the solution to the paper. Depending on the type of application, we supply three grades differing in absorption properties and paper surface: MN 816 N standard grade Cat. No. 90754, MN 260 HE high sensitivity grade Cat. No. 90757, and MN 616 T recommended for spot tests Cat. No. 90758.
Recommended application: end point detection during diazotations (for this reason, potassium iodide starch paper is sometimes called Diazonium paper); general test for organic substances. Instruction Sheet (pdf)

Color Reaction: white→ blue-violet

Scope of delivery: 1 reel of 5 m length and 7 mm width

Product: Potassium Iodide Starch Paper Type: Quantitative test strips Gradation / Sensitivity: 1 mg/L NO2- / 1 mg/L free Cl2 Item #: 90756

Potassium iodide starch paper allows the quick and easy detection of strong oxidizers such as nitrite and free chlorine. Potassium iodide starch paper is also used to control diazotization reactions. Instruction Sheet (pdf)
