MACHEREY‑NAGEL manufactures extraction thimbles from top quality raw materials using ultra‑pure water. They are typically used in Soxhlet extraction units, particularly for fat analysis of food, feed and soil contaminants.

Cellulose Extraction Thimbles

MACHEREY‑NAGEL extraction thimbles, made from cellulose, are available in five different types. MN 645 is standard grade for most applications, MN 645 D has a lid against floating of sample, MN 645 F is more dense and MN 645 W is less dense than the standard. MN 645 R is especially made for dust analysis.

Glass Fiber Extraction Thimbles

Glass fiber extraction thimbles from MACHEREY‑NAGEL are made from pure borosilicate glass microfibers without addition of binders. They have a high particle retention and temperature resistance of 500 °C/932 °F. Therefore, they are perfectly suited for dust analysis in hot exhaust gases.

Thimble grade & size selection

Only demineralized water is used in processing and manufacture of the extraction thimbles. This high purity ensures low contamination and effectively protects the extract. The raw materials are a special selection based on years of experience. Mechanical strength and excellent retention capacities guarantee a safe and reliable extraction.

The thimble sizes undergo a special quality control procedure with low tolerance. These ensure a perfect fit of the extraction thimbles and a convenient workflow. The sizes in the table represent the established practice of showing the internal diameter and the overall height.
